OIE Taipei|Design Concept
— A quiet oasis in the heart of the city.

OIE is the first Taipei outpost of Delavage, originally founded in Zhubei. More than a replication, this space distills the essence of the original and reimagines it in an urban context.

A key element—the wine wall—is reinterpreted at a smaller scale, shifting from backdrop to focal point. The kitchen becomes fully open, seamlessly connected to the bar, creating a sense of flow and performance.

The layout features two semi-open private rooms, adaptable into a larger one. Seating transitions from built-in banquettes at the entrance, to flexible central tables, and intimate two-tops near the wine display. Material and color shifts along the path create a layered spatial rhythm.

One wall showcases the wine crate installation, handcrafted from dismantled crates collected worldwide. Each piece tells a story—of place, process, and memory.

Another wall holds a sculptural installation inspired by the phrase:
“The city is a desert, and OIE is the oasis.”
Metal and light abstractly depict the urban landscape—subtle, symbolic, and atmospheric.

The façade remains quiet yet tactile: charred wood, brushed gold signage, and soft greenery. By night, light and sound transform it into a warm, glowing refuge.

The design moves between contrast and continuity,
between structure and mood—
telling a quiet story of presence, texture, and retreat.
